A nine-year-old boy diagnosed with leukemia has launched a charity single aimed at raising funds for children battling cancer.
Archie Branyik, who received a diagnosis of T-Cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in February 2023, made an appearance on This Morning with his mother, Natalie, today.
The young boy, hailing from Bromley, London, began to show symptoms such as pale skin, swollen lymph nodes, and muscle aches in November 2022.Currently undergoing maintenance therapy, Archie has teamed up with his classmates from Southborough Primary School to create a charity single that seeks to promote awareness for children's cancer charities.
The single, titled "Fight Song" by Archie's Army featuring Southborough, is now available on iTunes, with the young artist expressing in the lyrics, "I've still got a lot of fight left in me." Archie and his mother Natalie appeared on This Morning on Thursday.
During the segment, Natalie shared with hosts Dermot O'Leary and Sian Welby how her son began to show symptoms in November 2022.
She recounted that the nine-year-old experienced swollen lymph nodes, weight loss, and a significant decrease in energy.
After multiple visits to their local clinic, a consultant initially diagnosed Archie with strep A and advised them to return if his condition did not improve in the following weeks.
A month later, they consulted their GP, who ordered blood tests that returned normal results.
However, the schoolboy subsequently began to suffer from leg pain, back pain, and headaches.
In the weeks leading up to his diagnosis, Archie also experienced night sweats, and Natalie observed that he had started snoring.
"We also noticed that night he started to snore, which is one of the symptoms you wouldn't think was associated with leukemia," she explained.
