Fans of Luigi Mangione have expressed outrage online about him possibly facing the death penalty

 

 

On October 22, Mangione reportedly stated: '1.5 months. This investor conference is a true windfall... and - most importantly - the message becomes self evident.' In the same entry, he expressed his intention to 'wack' the CEO of an insurance firm. Mangione appeared in a Manhattan courtroom dressed in casual attire, consisting of a white button-down shirt, a navy three-quarter zip pullover, and khaki pants. While he was not shackled at the wrists, he did have shackles on his ankles.

 

 Upon his arrival at a downtown NYC helipad, he was met by numerous armed NYPD officers, along with Mayor Eric Adams and Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch. Earlier that Thursday, fans holding signs gathered in Pennsylvania to catch a glimpse of the alleged perpetrator, whose striking looks have turned him into a controversial figure online, eliciting both admiration and outrage due to his alleged actions. At least two attendees were dressed as Luigi from the Super Mario Bros video game. Several TikTok users reported traveling as far as six hours to witness the court proceedings.
