John Lennon's son Julian has revealed he has had a seven hour emergency surgery in Los Angeles after discovering a mole on his arm, which was cancerous.

"Just after wrapping up GMA, I received an urgent message from Dr. Tess, urging me to return to Los Angeles immediately because I had two suspicious spots on my Skin, Shoulder, and Forearm—one being Melanoma—that required prompt surgery!

Instead of heading home to set up my Christmas tree and enjoy a peaceful finish to the year, I flew straight back to Los Angeles as soon as my work in New York was completed.Upon arrival, I went directly from LAX to the surgical center, where I was treated by a surgeon recommended by Dr. Tess. He spent several hours meticulously operating on me, ensuring large margins around the tumors, in hopes of achieving clear margins and ultimately being cancer-free…The surgery went well, but we are still awaiting the biopsy results, which may not come in before Christmas… I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Tess and Dr. Tim for managing to arrange this operation on such short notice and, once again, potentially saving my life…
